Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television and Mini-Series

On February 3, DGA members enjoyed the 2016 edition of the Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television and Mini-Series symposium in the Guild’s Los Angeles Theater complex. Following an introduction by DGA President Paris Barclay, clips of each nominated film were shown. Then 2015 DGA Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Mini-Series Award nominees Angela Bassett (Whitney), Laurie Collyer (The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe) and Matthew Diamond [Live Television Direction by] (The Wiz Live!) spoke about the making of their films in a conversation moderated by DGA Movies for Television Committee member Andy Wolk.

The symposium was followed by a reception where DGA members and guests could mingle with the nominees. Nominees Paul Haggis (Show Me a Hero), Kenny Leon [Directed by] (The Wiz Live!) and Dee Rees (Bessie) were unable to attend.
