A faded actor and his stunt double strive to make their mark in the film industry in Director Quentin Tarantino’s new comedic-drama, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood.
Set in 1969 Los Angeles, Tarantino’s ninth feature film is a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age. The film tells the story of Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) the former star of a western television series, who with his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), is struggling to regain fame and success in an industry that may have already passed them by. Part of their hopes are pinned on the fact that Rick’s new neighbors are the rising starlet Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) and her director husband Roman Polanski (Rafal Zawierucha).
Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on August 18, Tarantino sat down with Director Paul Thomas Anderson (Phantom Thread), to discuss the making of Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood.
In addition to Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, Tarantino’s credits include the feature films Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill: Vols. 1 & 2, Death Proof, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight and episodes of the television series ER and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He was nominated for DGA Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film and the "Best Director" Oscar for his features Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds.
Tarantino has been a member of the DGA since 2011.
