January 25, 2025
On January 25, DGA members from Georgia gathered for a membership meeting in Atlanta. Hosted by the Guild and the Atlanta Coordinating Committee (ATLCC), the gathering provided the opportunity for the attendees to network with fellow members, meet DGA staff, hear what the Guild is doing to protect and extend their creative and economic rights, and to contribute to the discussion of how the DGA can best represent its members.
The gathering began with a welcome by DGA Fourth Vice President/ATLCC member, Director Seith Mann, who spoke briefly about the work of the Committee before introducing, DGA Associate National Executive Director/Eastern Executive Director Neil Dudich.
After speaking more about the history and mission of the ATLCC, Dudich delivered a report on the current state of the Guild and its activities. His comments included the work the Guild is doing to protect local production; the breakthrough the DGA achieved in the last round of negotiations to safeguard our members’ jobs from the threat of Artificial Intelligence; preparations for the next round of bargaining; and noted the explosive growth Atlanta has experienced over the past 15 years. Dudich then invited the attendees to contribute to the discussion with their questions and comments during an open forum section. He was joined in fielding those questions by DGA Senior Field Representative Bart Daudelin and Field Representative Abbie Brewer.
Established by DGA National Board in February 2024, the Atlanta Coordinating Committee organizes Guild activities in the Atlanta area and hosts networking and educational events to help support professional opportunities for local DGA members.
