Atlanta Coordinating Committee Hosts Kickoff Event

ATLCC

June 1, 2024

On June 1, over 70 DGA members from the surrounding area gathered for an event marking the creation of the Atlanta Coordinating Committee (ATLCC).

Established by DGA National Board in February, the Committee will coordinate Guild activities in the Atlanta area and host networking and educational events to help support professional opportunities for Atlanta-based DGA members. Members residing in the Atlanta area will be sent information about seminars, meetings and events planned by the Atlanta Coordinating Committee and do not need to self-identify to receive information.

The gathering provided members from this area with an opportunity meet the inaugural members of the Committee and hear about their vision for serving the Atlanta area. It also served as an opportunity for the attendees to contribute to the discussion of how the DGA can best represent its members in the region.

Following a welcome from DGA Assistant Executive Director Mary Hatch, DGA Fourth Vice President/ATLCC member, Director Seith Mann, spoke about the creation of the Committee. ATLCC members — UPM Tom Luse, 1st ADs Jason Inman and Renee Hill-Sweet and 2nd AD Yor-El Francis — all spoke about the Committee’s plans for the near future.

Also attending the gathering were the following ATLCC members: Directors Maurice “Mo” Marable and Brittany Scott Smith and 1st AD Derrick Doose; as well as DGA Senior Field Rep Bart Daudelin and DGA Field Rep Bart Abbie Brewer.
