Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television & Limited Series

71st Annual DGA Awards

On January 30, DGA members enjoyed the 2019 edition of the Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television & Limited Series event in the Guild’s Los Angeles Theater complex. Following a welcome from DGA First Vice President Betty Thomas, clips of each nominated film were shown. Then 2018 DGA Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television & Limited Series Award nominees: David Leveaux [Directed by] and Alex Rudzinski [Live Television Direction by] (Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert), Ben Stiller (Escape at Dannemora) and Jean-Marc Vallée (Sharp Objects) spoke about the making of their films in a conversation moderated by DGA Movies for Television Subcommittee Chair Mike Robe.

The event was followed by a reception where the nominees mingled with DGA members and guests. Nominees Cary Joji Fukunaga (Maniac) and Barry Levinson (Paterno) were unable to attend.
