DGA members and their dependents received free flu shots during the 2024 Health Fairs at Guild headquarters in Los Angeles on September 21 and the DGA New York Theater lobby on October 19. Hosted by the DGA-Producer Pension and Health Plans, all members in the surrounding areas — not just current Health Plan participants — were encouraged to attend these fairs to bolster their health for the coming flu season and take advantage of the wealth of information that was being disseminated by Pension and Health Plans representatives and representatives from the Health Plan's benefits and prescription vendors. The Directors Guild Foundation covered the cost of flu shots for participants not covered under the Health Plan and provided refreshments.
In addition to one-on-one time with Plans' staff, attendees of both fairs could learn more about the myPHP benefits portal, where Plans’ participants can access their personal benefits information including Health Plan eligibility, medical claims, employer contributions, estimated pension benefit accruals and more wherever they have internet access. New myPHP subscribers and current myPHP subscribers who opted to change to paperless delivery of myPHP documents were entered into a raffle drawing for an Apple HomePod smart speaker. On top of providing valuable benefits information this year, for the first time ever, the fairs also featured a blood drive for the Red Cross.
As a bonus, attendees at the fair were able to receive free neck and shoulder massages and take part in raffles where they had the opportunity to win a variety of prizes including an Apple Watch Series 9 with GPS, gift cards and more.
