Paris Barclay elected DGA President at Biennial Convention in June, the first African American to hold the position. DGA negotiates 2014 Basic Agreement and FLTTA in November, more than seven months before the expiration of the contracts. Negotiations led successfully by Michael Apted and Thomas Schlamme, together with Jay Roth. Highlights include wage and residuals increases as well as important new provisions in basic cable, new media, and diversity. DGA reaches an agreement with ABC, CBS and NBC on news, sports and operations in October. Collected residuals reach more than $340 million.
