65th Annual DGA Awards
DGA membership surpasses 15,000 directors and members of the directorial team. After nine years of allowing both paper and online voting for the DGA Awards, and in keeping with the Guild's efforts to be more environmentally conscious, the Guild successfully moves all Awards voting online. National Board votes to allow "for your consideration" screeners to be sent to members for the first time. The Guild continues to support and lobby for state and federal tax production incentives to encourage production in the U.S., successfully achieving a two-year, $200 million program extension in California. The Directors Guild Foundation offers assistance to members facing financial hardship after Hurricane Sandy.
The Man Who Would Be King

King Vidor helped bring directors together to form the Guild and became its first president during the early, perilous years. His legacy as a great filmmaker and fighter for directors' rights continues today.

Director's Cut - 75th Anniversary Video Compilation

Director’s Cut commemorates 75 years of directing history through the compilation of hundreds of clips illustrating the entire range of our members’ work. The focus is on images of directors working—not just the work itself—underscoring to audiences that these lasting images are the result of a director’s vision.
