Joshua W. White began his career in the 1970s working on many rock-n-roll documentaries including Midsummer Rock; Groupies and In Concert Cat Stevens: Moon & Star, for which he received an Emmy nomination in 1973.

White went on to direct movies for television like The Pirates of Penzance and a wide variety of television shows including Delta House; The Original Max Talking Headroom Show; Seinfeld and Inside the Actors Studio. He served on the Special Projects Committee and the DGA Eastern Directors Council from 2000 to 2004.
