March 9, 2002

Ron Howard was presented the 2001 DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film during the 54th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

The DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film has traditionally served as a near-perfect barometer for who will win the Academy Award for Best Director. Only five times since the DGA Award's inception in 1949 has the DGA Award winner not won the Academy Award.
