Rindenow, a DGA member since 1979, has been on staff with KCBS since 1980. Prior to joining KCBS he was an independent producer/director for his own company, SLR Productions, and worked as a freelance production manager and technical director for several studios and mobile facilities, producing many local commercials along with entertainment and sports segments for domestic and foreign television. At KCBS, has worked on every newscast and has won four Emmy Awards (most recently in 1999 for directing CBS2 News this Morning), five Golden Mike Awards and an Associated Press Award. As part of the KCBS news team Rindenow has covered events such as the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the Los Angeles riots, papal visits, firestorms, floods and the Academy Awards.
Rindenow has served the DGA as a member of the Associate Directors/Stage Managers/Production Associates (AD/SM/PA) Council since 1985 and was elected as an Alternate to the Guild’s National Board of Directors in 1991. He has served as the AD/SM/PA Council’s First and Second Vice Chairs, and was also the West Coast network representative for Directors, Associate Directors and Stage Managers for the Guild’s past five Network Staff contract negotiations.
