Directors Guild of America President Jack Shea and Awards Committee Chairperson Howard Storm today announced the DGA's nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television for 1998. The winners will be announced at the 51st Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 6, 1999 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
"Movies for television offer directors the opportunity to explore a wide variety of unique stories," commented DGA President Jack Shea. "From intimate portraits of talented individuals to fantasy on an epic scale, this outstanding group of DGA Award nominees represents the state-of-the-art in making movies for television. I congratulate them all."
The five nominees will be invited to attend the DGA's Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television symposium to be held on Saturday, February 27, 1999 at Guild headquarters in Los Angeles.
