DGA AWARD NOMINEES FOR 1996 BEST DIRECTOR FOR DOCUMENTARIES
DGA President Gene Reynolds and Awards Committee Chairman Howard Storm today announced the nominees for outstanding directorial achievement in 1996 for the Documentary Category. The winner will be announced on March 8 at the 49th Annual DGA Awards banquet at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and at the Sheraton in New York.
The documentary nominees are:
JOE BERLINGER & BRUCE SINOFSKY
"Paradise Lost"
Home Box Office presents a Hand-to-Mouth Production.
This is their second DGA awards nomination. They won in 1992 for "Brother’s Keeper."
LEON GAST
"When We Were Kings"
Gramercy Pictures
This is his first DGA nomination.
JEANNE JORDAN & STEVEN ASCHER
"Troublesome Creek: A Midwestern"
West City Films, Inc.
This is their first DGA nomination.
ISAAC MIZRAHI
"Slaughter, The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century"
A co-production of KCET and BBC.
This is his first DGA nomination.
AL PACINO
"Looking for Richard"
Fox Searchlight Pictures
This is his first DGA nomination.
