Assistance with Debris Removal

  • Debris Removal is a critical next step in the process of recovery. Do Not attempt to clean up the burn site by yourself. Los Angeles County has a dedicated webpage with information and removal forms. The debris removal process is divided into two main phases, each managed by different agencies. Residents have the option to participate in the government-run program or manage the cleanup independently by opting out.

Phase 1 is handled by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is already underway and must be completed before phase 2 begins. Phase 2 property owners may opt in for clean-up to be handled by the Army Corps of Engineers or opt out and pay for the services independently.
  • The County of Los Angeles has posted a 2 min informative video that explains the process. Click here to watch.
