As part of the Guild’s ongoing efforts to elevate the importance of safety in your workplaces, the 2023-2026 Basic Agreement (BA) and Freelance Live and Tape Television Agreement (FLTTA) include requirements for DGA employees to complete additional training courses.

For members working in the categories of AD/UPMs and AD/SMs the following trainings will become mandatory — in addition to the existing Safety Pass Training — in order to work on productions covered by the Basic Agreement (“BA”) and the Freelance Live and Tape Television Agreement (“FLTTA”):

  • Location Safety (CSATF Course Z1) and
  • Traditional Insert Car Safety (CSATF Course B5 [Mandatory Under the BA Only])
Mandatory as of March 31, 2025 or 90 days from initial date of employment following January 1, 2025, whichever is later.

DGA Members taking these courses beginning January 1, 2025 will be eligible for a stipend by logging in with their SAFETY PASS credentials at https://portal.csatf.org/auth/login. An email with more detailed instructions will be sent to members prior to the date the trainings become mandatory, and any questions about accessing them may be addressed to DGA Contracts Coordinator Chloe Christiansen at (310) 289-2058 or via email at cchristiansen@dga.org.

*Environmental Safety and Firearm Safety courses (CSATF courses A2 and S) became mandatory as of January 1, 2024.
