Under the supervision of an Assistant Director, Trainees can perform a range of DGA sanc-tioned duties that far exceed those performed by Production Assistants. Hiring a DGA Trainee is a great way to stretch production dollars and the Assistant Director Training Programs in Los Angeles and New York are offering incentives to productions willing do so.
For Both Programs:
- Employers get a 20% reimbursement on the salary of additional trainees when they employ two or more at the same time.
For the West Coast Program:
- Distant Location reimbursement of up to 50% of Trainee’s transportation, per diem and housing costs.
For the New York Program:
- Employers get a Distant Location reimbursement for round trip airfare and up to $100 per day for lodging.
