DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter recently appointed two new committees for the Guild.

DGA SAFETY COMMITTEE

DGA News March 2022DGA News March 2022A new DGA Safety Committee, with a cross-section of experienced members from the DGA categories, was appointed in early January 2022. The Committee is examining a broad range of safety issues DGA members face on sets, with the goal of developing recommendations for the National Board and Negotiations Committee as they seek to address these critical issues. Recommendations will focus on changes to be addressed by the industry and policy-makers in order to ensure that the safety of all workers is a top priority on set. The Safety Committee is chaired by Karen Gaviola, who is also a Co-Chair of the 2023 Negotiations Committee.

DGA SUSTAINABLE FUTURE COMMITTEE

DGA News March 2022DGA News March 2022A new DGA Sustainable Future Committee is also comprised of members across the Guild categories and is chaired by Directors Todd Holland and Lydia Pilcher and UPM Mari Jo Winkler. The Committee is focused on reducing carbon emissions and waste in film and television production to mitigate the adverse impacts on the environment and the areas where our members work and live. The Sustainable Future Committee has developed recommendations on how we can do our part to help move the industry in a more ecologically conscious direction and seeks to provide those recommendations to the National Board. Look out for more information and tips from the Committee in future issues of DGA Monthly and on www.dga.org.
