President Glatter Receives Excellence Award at 11th ATX TV Festival

June 4, 2022

On June 4, DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter was the recipient of ATX TV Festival’s “Achievement in Television Excellence Award.” First presented in 2014, the award seeks to recognize individuals whose career reflects the very best of television, through work that is thought-provoking, genuine, expansive, and entertaining.

During an intimate, in-depth conversation presented by Texas Monthly and moderated by DGA Past President Thomas Schlamme, Glatter shared memories from her exceptional career spanning more than 20 years of iconic television series such as Homeland, Mad Men, The West Wing, ER, Twin Peaks, and more.

Glatter also participated in the Festival’s “Dangerous Women” panel discussion where she and Executive Producers Valerie Armstrong (Kevin Can F**k Him-self) and Melinda Hsu Taylor (Tom Swift) and actors Katja Herbers (Evil) and Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), engaged in a conversation that explored how women are now getting the opportunity to push the boundaries of TV storytelling, challenge the status quo and redefine who/what a leading woman can be, moderated by podcast writer/producer Tara Ariano (Extra Hot Great).

About the Festival

Produced by ATX TV, the ATX TV Festival takes place every June in Austin, Texas where it brings together fans and the industry to celebrate the television medium by looking at its history, where it is now, and where it is headed. The festival consists of screenings followed by Q&As, panels, and events and is known for reunions of both classic shows and cult hits and for building a platform where attendees can hear from all the creative entities involved in all stages of bringing their favorite series to the small screen. DGA Past President Thomas Schlamme and First Vice President Betty Thomas serve on the festival’s Advisory Board.
