Dear DGA Member in Network and Local News, and Operations:
By now, you should have received emails from President Thomas Schlamme and National Executive Director Russell Hollander about the DGA's response to the ongoing and devastating COVID-19 crisis. As the Guild continues its work on all fronts to support members, those of you working in network and local news, and operations face a unique set of challenges. While the general population has been directed to remain at home, many of you are being asked to report to work as the companies continue to produce news programs.
First and foremost, for those of you who continue to report to work, our top priority is making sure the companies provide you with a safe and healthy workplace. With this in mind, we have been actively communicating with your employers about their efforts to ensure your well being. If you believe your employer is not taking adequate precautionary measures, please let us know immediately so that we can raise the issue and hold your employers accountable.
We also know some of you are not working, either because you are not comfortable doing so, or because you have been asked by your employer to remain at home. If you have questions regarding your rights or benefits, please reach out to us so that we can raise these questions with the companies.
Below are the names and numbers of Guild staff members who are here to help you through this difficult time:
