In a letter of support to the DGA members in the areas impacted by these fires, DGA Foundation Chairman Donald Petrie sent the following message:
Dear Member:
I write this letter on behalf of your 17,500 fellow DGA members whose thoughts are with you and the residents of Malibu, Ventura County and the Western San Fernando Valley during this difficult time as the wildfires rage through Southern California communities. We are all watching the news unfold – and hoping that you and your loved ones are okay.
We know some of you have you have been hit hard – some members have lost their homes or suffered great damage. I personally have been evacuated from my home and understand the impact of what you may be facing. The Directors Guild Foundation is available to assist in short-term interest free loans to members to help with the immediate financial crisis.
