Directors David Rodriguez and Alejandro Treviño and 2nd Assistant Director Rami Rivera Frankl have been elected co-chairs of the Latino Committee (LC).
The Latino Committee was created as a networking group to advance career and job opportunities for Latino DGA members by improving craft skills, networking, and enhance their job opportunities in both the English and Spanish-speaking media. The Committee meets monthly and schedules several special events throughout the year.
RAMI RIVERA FRANKL
Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, Rami Rivera Frankl has been working in the film and television industry for the over twenty years in various capacities, including a stint as the President of Post Production at The Empire Group/Tayrona Films, Inc. As an Assistant Director his credits include the feature films Beyond Paradise and 186 Dollars to Freedom; the movie for television D.R.E.A.M. Team; the episodic series The Dream Team and The Bridge; and the short film Poor Joey. He has been a member of the DGA since 2010.
DAVID RODRIGUEZ
Born and raised in the New York, David Rodriguez graduated from New York Military Academy. He worked in law enforcement before becoming a director and breaking into the industry in 2003 with his debut feature film, PUSH. His filmography includes the feature films American Bully and Last I Heard; numerous music videos; and episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles, Scandal and Stalker. He has been a member of the DGA since 2009.
ALEJANDRO TREVIÑO
Alejandro Treviño oversees production of the entertainment division at Maker Studios, the world’s largest provider of online video content for millennials. His filmography includes directing and producing episodes of the online series La Chamba and Si! Es I, Pepe; and brand-integrated Denny’s Restaurants video spots for the website Funny or Die. Treviño holds a Masters degree from the ITP program within the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He has been a member of the DGA since 2013.
