Second Assistant Directors enjoyed an afternoon of conversation and exploration when the Eastern AD/UPM Council’s Second AD Committee hosted their seventh annual Second AD Afternoon Tea on January 26. The gathering in the boardroom of the Guild’s New York offices was designed so that members of this category exchange ideas with their colleagues and chart developments since the same meeting last year. The event was also a forum where they could have their voices heard and discuss topics relating to their profession.
Following the welcome, Committee Co-Chairs Arianne Apicelli, Dana Zolli and John Silvestri outlined the schedule for the meeting. Then the assembly broke into smaller groups moderated by Second AD Committee members where they answered questions and engaged in roundtable discussions featuring topics such as staffing on additional shooting units, mentoring, and ideas for future training modules. DGA staff members were also available to answer questions.
About the Committee
The AD/UPM Council East Second Assistant Directors Committee addresses issues that concern the members of this category and encourages dialogue amongst members in an effort to bring awareness, devise solutions to problems and continue education and growth. The Committee is co-chaired by Arianne Apicelli, John Silvestri and Dana Zolli.
