Director Gail Mancuso discusses A Dog’s Journey

A dog finds the meaning of his own existence in Director Gail Mancuso’s new family drama, A Dog’s Journey.

In the sequel to Lasse Hallström's 2017 feature, A Dog's Purpose, Mancuso’s film brings back the continually reincarnated pooch and his adventures through multiple lives filled with love, friendship and devotion as he serves as the companion and protector of his human family.

Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on June 2, Mancuso sat down with Director Anne Fletcher (Dumplin') to discuss the making of A Dog’s Journey.

A Dog’s Journey is Mancuso's feature directorial debut. Her more than 100 television directorial credits include the movies for television So Close, Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office and The IT Crowd; the pilot for the series Your Family or Mine; and episodes of the series Roseanne, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, Rules of Engagement, Cougar Town, 30 Rock, Gilmore Girls, Dharma & Greg, Friends, Ellen and The Nanny. She is a three-time DGA Comedy Series Award nominee for episodes of Modern Family and a two-time Emmy Award-winner for her Modern Family episodes "Vegas" and "Arrested." Mancuso has been a DGA member since 1988.
