A fading pop star seeks to reinvigorate her career in Director Brady Corbet’s new drama, Vox Lux.
Corbet’s film tells the story of Celeste, a young singer who had a meteoric rise to fame after she survived a violent tragedy as a teenager and captured the nation's attention when she sang at the memorial service. Years later, the now superstar celebrity must deal with aftermath when a scandalous incident could derail her career. She seeks to reclaim her place in the entertainment world via an album of sci-fi anthems entitled "Vox Lux" and must find a way to come to grips with everything her life has become.
Following the DGA membership screening in New York on December 13, Corbet sat down with Director John Krokidas (Kill Your Darlings) to discuss the making of Vox Lux.
In addition to Vox Lux, Corbet’s credits include the feature film The Childhood of a Leader and the short fim Protect You + Me. Corbet became a DGA member in 2018.
