Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television & Mini-Series

On January 31, DGA members enjoyed the 2018 edition of the Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television and Mini-Series symposium in the Guild’s Los Angeles Theater complex. Following a welcome from DGA First Vice President Betty Thomas, clips of each nominated film were shown. Then 2017 DGA Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Mini-Series Award nominees: Kyra Sedgwick (Story of a Girl) and Jean-Marc Vallée (Big Little Lies) spoke about the making of their films in a conversation moderated by DGA Movies for Television Committee Chair Mike Robe.

The symposium was followed by a reception where the nominees mingled with DGA members and guests. Nominees Scott Frank (Godless), Barry Levinson (The Wizard of Lies) and George C. Wolfe (The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks) were unable to attend.
