Director John Krasinski discusses A Quiet Place

April 25, 2018 A DGA Q&A in New York

“If they hear you, they hunt you,” is the tagline for Director John Krasinski’s new sci-fi/thriller, A Quiet Place.

Krasinski’s film is set in the very near future when most of the population of Earth has been eradicated by savage extraterrestrial creatures that arrived on fragments from their exploded home world. In this new existence, a family of survivors is forced to live in silence to hide from these aliens that hunt exclusively by sound.

Following the April 25 DGA membership screening in New York, Krasinski sat down with Director Doug Liman (American Made) to discuss the making of A Quiet Place and the challenges of directing a film in which both he and his wife have leading roles.

In addition to A Quiet Place, Krasinski’s directorial credits include the feature films The Hollars and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men; and episodes of the television series The Office. Krasinski has been a DGA member since 2010.
