The girls of a high school volleyball team must band together after the tragic loss of their star player in Director Sean McNamara’s new drama, The Miracle Season.
McNamara’s film tells the inspiring true story of the members of the Iowa City West High School volleyball team who are dispirited following the tragic death of their star player, Caroline “Line” Found. Under the guidance of their tough-love coach, Kathy Bresnahan (Helen Hunt), they must band together in hopes of winning the state championship.
Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on April 14, McNamara sat down with Director Helen Hunt (American Housewife), who also stars in the film, to discuss the making of The Miracle Season.
In addition to The Miracle Season, McNamara’s credits include the feature films Soul Surfer, Cody the Robosapien, Bratz and Race to Space; the movies for television Just in Time for Christmas, The Suite Life Movie and The Trial of Old Drum; the pilots for the series Ties That Bind and Phil of the Future; and episodes of the series Chesapeake Shores, Zeke and Luther, Dance Revolution, That’s So Raven, and The Secret World of Alex Mack. McNamara is a four-time DGA Award nominee in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children’s Programs category for The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold (2006), The Even Stevens Movie (2003), and the Even Stevens episodes “Very Scary Story” (2001) and “Easy Way” (2000). McNamara has been a DGA member since 2000.
