A precocious 6-year-old girl finds mischief and adventure in Director Sean Baker’s new drama, The Florida Project.
Baker’s film tracks one summer in the life of young Moonee and her playmates as they spend their days nearly unfettered by adult supervision in a downtrodden hotel complex just on the outskirts of Disney World.
Following the New York DGA membership screening on October 3, Baker sat down with Director Paul Schrader (First Reformed) to discuss the making of The Florida Project. Baker also spoke about the film in a conversation moderated by Director Ti West (The Exorcist) following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on October 8.
In addition to The Florida Project, Baker’s credits include the feature films Tangerine, Starlet, Prince of Broadway, Take Out and Four Letter Words; the movie for television Fur on the Asphalt: The Greg the Bunny Reunion Show; and episodes of the television series Warren the Ape and Greg the Bunny. Baker has been a DGA member since 2010.
