On June 13, the DGA Women’s Steering Committee hosted a special screening of a series of Emmy-nominated public service announcements directed by DGA members for three “Santa Monica Cares” organizations. The series included Bread and Roses Café, directed by Dianne Bartlow, StepUp directed by Jerri Sher and Ocean Park Community Center directed by Melanie Wagor.
The series was a co-production of the DGA Women's Steering Committee and the City of Santa Monica cable television channel, CityTV. DGA Director-member Mary Lou Belli and CityTV Station Manager Robin Gee served as Executive Producers.
Following the screening and a welcome by Belli, who was also recently elected as a Co-Chair to the Committee, the directors sat down to discuss the making of these short films in a conversation with Director Martha Cotton.
