Director Jon M. Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, Step Up 3D) dives into the world of fantasy action adventure in his new feature G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the sequel to Director Stephen Sommers' 2009 franchise-launching G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
In the film, the heroic G.I. Joe team is framed for stealing nuclear warheads and decimated. The surviving team members have to find a way to clear their names and once again defeat their mortal enemy, the evil organization bent on world domination and destruction known as Cobra.
Following an introduction from DGA Asian American Committee Co-Chair Ron Dempsey, Chu discussed the making of the film with director Scott Speer (Step Up Revolution) after the DGA screening in Los Angeles on March 30.
