An Evening with Director Jon. M. Chu

An Asian American Committee Event

On Tuesday, September 29, the Asian American Committee (AAC) hosted a Q&A with DGA Director-member Jon M. Chu (League of Extraordinary Dancers) following the membership screening of his new film, Step Up 3D, Chu’s follow-up to his earlier feature Step Up 2: The Streets.

Following an introduction by AAC Co-Chair Chris Tashima (Day of Independence), the audience in the DGA Theatre in Los Angeles was treated to the first dance movie ever to be shot in 3D.

After the screening, Chu discussed the challenges of making of Step Up 3D with DGA Director-member Jon Turteltaub (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice; National Treasure: Book of Secrets).

Chu has been a DGA member since 2007.
