After working on his first independent feature as a Second Assistant Director, Silver began producing documentaries, music videos, commercials, reality series segments and over a dozen independent features. Silver has directed two independent feature films:
White Nights (2005) and most recently,
Blood Cure (2012).
Alain Silver has also produced soundtrack albums, provided DVD commentaries for films, and has written many books including a series of Film Noir Readers, as well as
The Film Director’s Team,
Film Budgeting,
The Vampire Film,
The Samurai Film,
The Horror Film Reader, and
Raymond Chandler’s Los Angeles. As his service to the Guild, Silver was a longtime member of the DGA’s Special Projects Committee.
