John Landis is a director, writer and producer of feature films, television, documentaries and music videos. Landis’ most well known films include several classic comedies of the 1970s and 80s including The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977), Animal House (1978), The Blues Brothers (1980), Trading Places (1983) and Coming to America (1988), as well as the acclaimed horror film An American Werewolf in London (1981). Landis also directed two of Michael Jackson’s most well-known epic music videos; Thriller and Black or White. Landis has continued to direct on television, most recently on the series Psych and Franklin & Bash. For his directorial efforts Landis has received a Primetime Emmy for the documentary Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project (2007). Landis was a member of the DGA’s Western Directors Council from 1994-96.
