About the Eastern Diversity Steering Committee

The Eastern Diversity Steering Committee (EDSC) represents the concerns of Guild members of African, Asian, Native American, Arab-Middle Eastern and Latino descent. The EDSC is committed to improving the employment opportunities, working conditions and the skills of ethnically diverse Guild members.
More... Less...

The EDSC proposes solutions to the Guild to address issues unique to ethnically diverse members.  These issues include, but are not limited to, improving employment, working conditions and financial compensation.

To achieve this mandate, the EDSC sponsors workshops, seminars, networking sessions and major events to showcase members’ talent, enhance their qualifications, improve work opportunities, recognize their contributions and increase their visibility in the industry.  The EDSC will also maintain open lines of communication and strengthen ties with ethnically diverse Guild members across all categories, DGA leadership and other leaders within the film and television industry.

The EDSC strongly supports the leadership of the Guild in its commitment to promote diversity in the industry.  The EDSC encourages the greater participation of ethnically diverse members in all Guild activities, councils, and committees to the common interest of the Guild and its members.
