Los Angeles – Directors Guild of America National Executive Director Jay D. Roth announced that Associate General Counsel David Dreyfus will be promoted to the position of General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel Tiffanie Baker will become Associate General Counsel for the Guild.
“David has been a stellar addition to the Guild since he started here four years ago. I’m very pleased that the Guild and our membership will continue to benefit from his good judgment and ample experience, and I know that he will smoothly transition into his new responsibilities as General Counsel for the Guild,” said Roth. “Tiffanie came to the DGA with a very strong background in secured transactions and general corporate matters, and since then, she’s only strengthened and deepened her expertise in the Guild’s most pressing legal issues. I’m confident that Tiffanie will continue to grow and excel in her new role.”

David Dreyfus joined the DGA in 2007. As Associate General Counsel, he oversaw the resolution of grievances and arbitration of claims and litigation, while working on a variety of issues including creative rights, residuals and credits and participating in collective bargaining negotiations and contract drafting. Dreyfus was previously a litigation associate with Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan LLP, where he worked on cases involving entertainment and intellectual property issues. He received a B.A. in Microbiology from Miami University (Ohio) in 1995 before earning a J.D. with honors from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1998, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as the Executive Editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. Dreyfus will report directly to Senior General Counsel/Associate National Executive Director David Korduner.

Tiffanie Baker first joined the DGA as Assistant General Counsel in 2009. Baker regularly negotiates with producers, banks and other third parties on documents needed for project clearance and is solely responsible for handling legal matters related to the Guild’s financial assurances program. Prior to her work with the DGA, Baker was a corporate and finance associate at Sidley Austin LLP for four years where she represented her clients in secured loan transactions, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. Baker received her undergraduate degree in political science from Washington University in Saint Louis in 2001 and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2005, where she served as Associate Editor and Research & Internet Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law. She will report directly to Dreyfus.
“Between David and Tiffanie and the rest of the extremely talented Legal Department, our members can rest assured that they will continue to be represented with excellence,” Roth added.
