Visual History Collection
The Visual History Program was established in 2000 by the DGA's Special Projects Committee to expand its efforts to document the careers of Directors Guild members. A template of questions was drafted focusing on key areas of the art and craft of directing for film and television. This template has since been adapted for interviews with members of the director's team, including assistant directors, unit production managers, associate directors, and stage managers. The Visual History Collection continues to grow, with peer-to-peer interviews conducted in Los Angeles, New York and other locations. These interviews are cross-referenced and indexed by terms and topics to maximize searchability. They are then posted on the DGA website on a regular basis.
The full interviews currently available for view are listed below in alphabetical order.
