The Government Affairs Department works to ensure that governmental policies enacted at the international, national, state, and local level address the concerns and issues of DGA members. On issues ranging from protecting copyright in the digital age, to protecting the First Amendment freedoms of the creative community, to combating runaway production, to examining policies that affect the DGA Health and Pension Plans, the DGA is at the forefront of efforts in the public policy arena to bolster protections for directors and members of their directing teams. Through its Political Action Committee (PAC) and associated Leadership Council, the DGA continually informs legislators and policymakers about the needs and concerns of our members.
